Rajiv Anchal is a screenwriter and film director from Kerala. He has directed eight feature films. Of late, he has based his movies in the United States. He is the life member of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy Of Film & Television. His magnum opus is a Malayalam film, Guru, which is a symbolic and allegorical movie about the blind faith which has been perpetuated on the human mankind. Guru was officially the Indian submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1997. His Beyond the Soul won three awards at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival: Best Director, Best Screenplay and Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Film in 2003. Rajeev Anchal was previously also been working as an art director. His latest film is Paattinte Palazhy (2010).

Apart from filmmaking, he also does art direction for films. Adharvam (1989) and Njan Gandharvan (1991) had him working in the art department. He was also the art consultant for Manu Uncle (1984).

In 1992, Anchal had begun shooting a film called Australia, however the project was abanodoned after shooting began. He the began film called Butterflies, and in it included some of the racing footage originally shot for the canceled project.[1]
